Ahhhh, Mother's Day... A holiday that needs to be celebrated more. Why? Let us tell you.
A mother is a bearer, a lover, and a provider. A mother is one of the most important roles in life, and a "mom" does shape our society. Since you were young, your mother has most likely done something that no one else has. She taught you how to behave, how to listen, how to use manners, but most importantly, she taught you what love is.
A mother loves unconditionally. It's the reality of human nature. There is no bond that is comparable to a mother and a daughter, or a mother and a son. No matter what you do, your mom loves you. It's almost imperative for her not to.
A mother provides for her children. She goes to extreme measurements to make sure her children have it all. It's one of the first things she thinks about when she wakes up, and one of the last things before going to bed. Her child is her life. (you are her life)
We really could go on, and on, all day about how important a mother's role is in a child's life. Not enough people appreciate the extents to which moms go to, just so you'll be happy. Take some extra time this Mother's Day and reflect. Think not just of all the things she did, but all the things she tried to do. It's not necessarily about what, but how much she tried to provide for you. However, you'll probably find that she did a lot more than you realized.
Mother's day shouldn't just be buying something for your mom in expectation to show appreciation. It should be "showing her" your appreciation.
Really connect with your mom. Take her somewhere, experience something fun with her, laugh, smile together... We're not saying flowers and a card aren't meaningful, because they definitely are, and that would be a great gift. We're saying: come from a place "in mind" that you are actually showing appreciation to your mom, rather than just buying her things because it's Mother's Day. In the world we live in today, money is the catalyst to do things, go places, and buy things. Again, we aren't saying don't spend money on your mom, just do it with immense thought, meaning, and appreciation behind it. Do what she would do for you. Whatever you do (or buy) for her, make sure it reflects how much you appreciate her. (it should be something meaningful)
Something you could do is: take her somewhere to eat. Buy her meal, and provide her with a great experience. Don't go somewhere mediocre, go somewhere exceptional. Pick somewhere that reflects your appreciation. Pick somewhere she would want you to go.
We are hosting a Mother's Day Brunch Buffet on Saturday, May 13th, from 11AM-3PM. There's a ton of great options we're providing, and it would be a great way to treat your mom. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!
