“You have to have a lot of passion for what you do because it’s so hard that any rational person would give up.” -Steve Jobs, Apple
The restaurant business is hard. Like, really hard. We're not here to tell you that. We're just saying that there’s so obstacles we’ve had to break through over the years, which have been tough to get through. However, do you know what made(makes) it easier? Steve Jobs had this one right, and you guessed it. Passion. What’s our passion then?
Happiness is our goal and also our passion. We’re passionate about making you happy. The way we do that is by serving you with high quality/great tasting food, the best view, and the best service in Cadillac, Michigan. To us it’s like a drug. By serving you something we make, which can result in your happiness increasing, we get a sort-of “high” from doing it.
The look on people’s faces when they first see their food arriving to the table, the compliments we get from the wonderful taste and quality service, people’s eyes light up when they look out the window (or sit outside), are all part of what we’re passionate about. It’s our customer’s reaction that we’re looking for. If you’re happy, we’re happy.
Think of it sort of like stand up comedy. If a comedian bombs on stage (doesn’t get laughs) they feel pretty dented. If a comedian kills it stage (gets a lot of laughs), they feel pretty warm inside. They rely on laughter, as we rely on satisfaction. Comedians actually get joy from making people laugh, as to we get joy from making people full/satiated, and overall happy.
If you are in a better mood when you leave versus before you came, we have done our job correctly, and we hope there's a lot of contrast between the two.
It’s almost difficult to describe this feeling, and that’s why the closest thing we thought of was the comedian analogy.
We are happy, once you are. It’s why we wake up every day.
We just want to say thank you. Thank you for making us happy. By choosing us, we get to try and make you happy, and if we do, we’re happy.
